Bloody Mary Continue

I have had 3 Bloody Mary's since the last post.

This first one was from Sam's Tavern. The only reason why I wanted to go here was because  I wanted to try their Bloody Mary that comes with a slider. I know sounds a bit too much, but I'm always down to try something that extravagant. Unfortunately, I went there on a late night and there were a lot of people. And when I ordered , the bartender looked at me like foreal, you want the one with a slider  and 2? So I said no just regular. I did ask myself really? I'm ordering a Bloody Mary at 10pm while everyone was drinking beer? This one was just okay.  There was a lot of stuff in there that I had to chew. Don't know exactly what I was chewing. Possibly bacon bits? But it didn't stand out that much to me. Maybe I need to go back and get the slider.

The next palace I went to was at 5 Spot. A breakfast spot near my place. I went there with my friend who came to visit from the bay. This one was pretty good. Simple. I think this one had a kick to it. And I love celery!

Last but not least, Local 360. I've wanted to try this place for a while and finally did. However, this was the longest brunch ever. We got there at 1130 and ended at 2. It was pretty pack, but I don't know why it was super slow. All we did was wait and wait and wait. And! I didn't even get to try what I originally wanted because they ran out! But overall I thought that place was pretty good. As for the Bloody Mary, I thought it was really good. It had this smokey flavor, well at least that's what I thought it tasted like. Like smokey bacon? And get this, he recommended this pepper vodka and then comes back saying they ran out! I'm surprised that I had a lot patience. I definitely need to go back and try everything that I couldn't try because they ran out! Story of Local 360, we ran out.

The next Bloody Mary that I am looking for is one that has the good stuff on the rim that's not salt. I would also like to go back to Tap House and try their Bloody Mary, since I that was my favorite to begin with. I definitely need to try The Metropolitan Grills Bloody Mary, just because I work there.

Note: I love pickled vegetables!! That's a plus in a Bloody Mary for me!

Bloody Mary

It's been a very long time since I've posted something. I don't even know if anyone reads or comes across my blog, but I'm going to try and start posting again.

So lately I have been in love with bloody marys. I have been going around Seattle trying different bloody marys and trying to find the best one. At first, the one that I liked the most was from Tap House. I thought it was the best because of how flavorful it was and how spicy it was. That's what made me like it so much. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of it.

One place that I like going to is located in Capitol Hill called Manhattans. It is probably at the top of my list right now. I've been there twice so I was able to enjoy two different bloody marys. The first time I went I had a bloody mary with gin. I like gin, especially in my dirty martini. But at Manhattans, for brunch, they have different kinds of bloody marys. The picture down below is not the one I had. The one in the picture is a bloody mary with whiskey. It's totally different. I liked it, but I don't prefer it. It had a bacon in it which is why I took the picture.

The second time I went to Manhattans I had to get the Bonnie because I saw it the first time I went there. It's pricey, but totally worth it if your into bloody marys. This one was ultimately insane looking. It's so good and I think it's at the top of my list. If it could have been a little bit more spicy, it would be even better.

So the next place I liked was from Rock Creek in Fremont. It was pretty good. The only reason why I liked it was because it came with an oyster and a prawn. Overall, really good.

The last bloody mary I had was a Duos Lounge in West Seattle. It was just okay. It was just a regular bloody mary. Nothing really stood out to me. Now that I look at this picture it looks a little watered down, but I don't really remember if it tasted that way. Probably.

So these are the only bloody marys that I took pictures of only because I wanted to or remembered to. I'm going to start taking pictures of all the bloody marys I try so that I can post about it.

There are other places I've been to and had their bloody marys. I've tried the one at Boka in downtown Seattle, that ones okay. I tried the bloody mary at Salty's on Alki, also okay. One place I tried that was not bad was at Roxy's Diner. Then the one at Hunger in Fremont was okay, but I liked the salted rim they had, that was really good. I think those are the ones that I've tried without a picture so maybe there's a reason why, because it was just okay. But regardless, I'm going to take a picture from now on.

The reason why I love bloody marys so much is because I like the saltiness and the pickled vegetables! Oh yeah and the alcohol of course!! Now I can't wait to get a bloody mary! Where will my next bloody mary be at?

Skillet Diner

My sister was telling me about Skillet Diner and how they have really good burgers and bacon jam!! Unfortunately, I didn't get to try either of those because my eye was set for waffles and fried chicken which I also did not get. I changed my mind last minute and got the waffle and pork belly. I love pork belly! The waffle was made of cornmeal and it came with an egg. What I liked about this was that it didn't come with maple syrup because the pork belly was glazed and cooked with maple which I thought was genius!

As for the diner, it's basically a modern diner. They started off as a food truck and then opened two locations. The atmosphere is awesome and they play the jams from Biggie to Ciara and lots of Beyonce and Jay Z. I would definitely go back and try other stuff on the menu. I'd also like to mention that the serve Fonte coffee, a coffee that I like! However, 3 bucks for coffee is $$, but I got 2 cups so I guess it's ok.

It's Been Too Long

It's been three months since the last time I've posted anything. So much has happened that I've completely forgot about this. I'm pretty sure I've experience a lot of delicious foods within the last three months. I don't think I would be able to remember any of it so I'm going to start off with the most recent experience that is worth talking about.

Yesterday we celebrated my sisters father in laws 65th birthday with all his close friends and had a private room in Canlis. A very popular and high end restaurant. It's so fancy that there's a dress code and I work at a pretty nice, classy, expensive steak house, but there's no dress code. Canlis is top notch fancy. Anyways, when everyone arrived they had the servers come around with appetizers. Each appetizer was served on a spoon, similar to the asian spoons you use to eat soup. Let me tell you, they were amazing! It tasted so good! There was tiny crab cakes, teriyaki beef, smoked salmon and quiche. I didn't get to take a picture of any of the food except the dessert :( For our entrees we had three choices halibut, roasted herb chicken or filet mignon and of course the majority of the party chose the filet mignon. I personally chose it because I love steak and I wanted to compare it to The Metropolitan Grill.  The filet mignon was good and it had this sauce, but I have no idea what it was. Possibly a sweet potato puree? Anyways there was a little bit of sides that came with it, but what I really enjoyed was the sides that they brought out for all of us to share which was zucchini and mushrooms. I love mushrooms! One this I thought was a bit strange was that the servers were on point. They came out with everyones plate and set them in front of us at the same time and they don't do that until everyone is seated. Apparently their service is impeccable. They even fold your napkins when you get up from your chair. Anyways back to the filet, I like The Mets better because it's more flavorful.

On to the desserts we had chocolate cake with chocolate mousse that we brought and they provided the creme brûlée, passion fruit tart and chocolate mousse covered in dark chocolate and caramel. Super rich! And of course coffee. I recommend Canlis if you want to spend $$$$$
